Circumcision
Forget Everything You Know About Circumcision
by: Kristina Tung of Enlightened Birth
Just for a moment.Imagine a piece of your body. A piece that serves as protector of one of your most vulnerable and sensitive private places. It maintains optimal pH balance, warmth, cleanliness, and sensitivity of that vulnerable place. It is rich with membranes that are your body’s first line of defense against bacteria and infection. It’s the most sensitized part of the most pleasurable part of your body, and made up of tens of thousands of nerve receptors that can detect the slightest touch or change in temperature. This piece allows for comfortable and intensely pleasurable intimacy, whether alone or with a partner, without the need of added lubrication. This piece of your body evolved over millions of years, and every other mamal of your sex on earth has one.
Now imagine that piece of you is missing. Three feet of veins, arteries, and capillaries gone. Two-hundred-forty feet of nerves, and more than 20,000 nerve endings, taken away from you. Muscles, glands, mucous membranes, and other tissue– destroyed. Without protection, that vulnerable part of your body dries out and keratinizes. You become more susceptible to infection. Intimacy is effected, since you can’t feel as much. The sensations your partner’s body was designed and eager to experience during lovemaking are effected.
Your arms and legs strapped down to a board, this piece of you was forcefully separated from that incredibly vulnerable part of your body and then cut from you, when you were days old … likely without any anesthesia. You screamed until your body went into shock and entered a coma-like state to cope with the pain. Your open wound was then exposed to urine and feces, and you felt post-traumatic stress effects for days, weeks, months, or longer.
If you were lucky, you may feel you were only left with a physical scar. If you’re one of the unlucky ones, you could suffer from one of numerous other problems. Infection. Erectile dysfunction. Psychological effects. Gangrene. Disfigurement. Amputation.
Because, by having this piece of you, you could get teased in the locker room as a teenager. Because someone told your parents it would be easier, cleaner, healthier, safer. Because, without this piece of you, an area of your body may more closely resemble the same area on your father’s body.
But you’ve done your research, and you know the truth.
You know that if you needed a foreskin, you’d be born with one.
